Gastrointestinal problems

Problems of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract — esophagus, stomach and small and large intestine — are quite common. Patients with GI problems often experience pain, either acute or that develops over longer periods of time. In either case, it’s important to get appropriate care, as even minor symptoms can indicate compound health issues.

Drs. Mourani and Tarakji have the skill and training to accurately diagnose problems of the GI tract, from acid reflux disease to colon cancer. If surgery is required, they will immediately refer you to a board-certified surgeon to correct your problem and get you the relief you want.

Gallbladder problems

Gallstones are common problems at all ages. The stones may not cause any symptoms, but when they do, patients might experience nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain and jaundice.

While many gallstones don’t require surgical removal, those that do warrant the knowledge and expertise of Drs. Mourani and Tarakji. If a stone passes into bile channels, they are able to remove it endoscopically. If they determine that surgery is needed, they will promptly refer you to a surgeon who specializes in gallbladder removal. Today’s surgical methods require only tiny incisions, which means less pain and a rapid recovery time.
